New Contract / Edit Contract

New Contract

Create or edit a customer contract with tracking for dates, value, status, and renewal.

Contract Fields

  • Reference — Auto-generated reference number (e.g., CT-0001), displayed for existing contracts
  • Contract Name (required) — Descriptive title
  • Customer (required) — Select from the customer list
  • Status — Draft, Active, Signed, Expired, Cancelled, or Renewed
  • Start Date (required) — Contract start date
  • End Date (required) — Contract end date (must be after start date)
  • Contract Value — Monetary value of the contract
  • Signed By — Name of the person who signed
  • Signed Date — Date the contract was signed
  • Description — Contract details and terms

Contract Renewal

For existing contracts with status Active, Signed, or Expired, a Renewal section appears:

  • New Start Date — Start date for the renewed contract
  • New End Date — End date for the renewed contract
  • New Value — New contract value (leave blank to carry forward current value)
  • Click Renew Contract to create the renewal

The renewal updates the contract status to Renewed and applies the new dates and value.

Validation

  • Contract name, customer, start date, and end date are all required
  • End date must be after start date
