Activity Plans

Pre-configured templates for structured activity sequences. When launched, an activity plan creates multiple activities with pre-set types, assignments, and timing intervals.

Plan Fields

  • Plan Name (required) — Descriptive name for the plan
  • Description — What this plan is for
  • Active — Enable or disable

Plan Lines

Each plan contains sequenced activity lines:

  • Activity Type — Type of activity (from Activity Types)
  • Summary — Default description for the activity
  • Assignment — How the activity should be assigned:
    • Ask at Launch — Prompt the user to select an assignee when launching
    • Default User — Auto-assign to a specific user
  • Interval — Delay between activities (e.g., 3 days, 1 week, 2 months)
  • Trigger TimingBefore or After relative to the previous activity
  • Sequence — Order in which activities are created

Launching a Plan

Activity plans can be launched from a lead or opportunity record. When launched:

  1. All plan lines are converted into individual activities
  2. Each activity is linked to the target entity (lead or customer)
  3. Timing intervals are calculated from the launch date
  4. Assignments are resolved based on the plan configuration

Use Cases

  • New Lead Onboarding — Introductory email → follow-up call (3 days) → demo meeting (7 days)
  • Proposal Follow-up — Send proposal → check receipt (1 day) → follow-up call (3 days) → final meeting (7 days)

Validation

  • Plan name is required
  • Cannot delete a plan that has existing plan lines
