Leave Policies

Leave Policies define who receives how much leave and from when.

Fields

  • Policy Name - rule name.
  • Leave Type - leave category the rule applies to.
  • Grade (optional) - restrict the rule to one grade.
  • Employment Type (optional) - restrict the rule to one employment type.
  • Annual Entitlement (days) - total entitlement or yearly allocation.
  • Accrual Method - annual grant, monthly accrual, or quarterly accrual.
  • Applicable during Probation - whether the entitlement applies before confirmation.
  • Minimum Service (months) - minimum service requirement.
  • Effective From - when the rule starts.
  • Effective To - when the rule stops, if temporary.

Workflow

  1. Create the leave type first.
  2. Add policies for each grade or employee segment if the company varies entitlement.
  3. Review Leave Balance after creating or changing policies.

Notes

  • If Grade and Employment Type are blank, the rule behaves more generally.
  • Effective dating matters. Overlapping policies should be planned carefully.
