Items
Create and maintain inventory items. Items can be physical stock, services, or fixed assets.
Item Types
- Bought Items - Purchased from suppliers and held in stock
- Manufactured Items - Produced from Bill of Materials
- Service Items - Non-stock items (labor, consulting)
Key Fields
- Item Code - Unique identifier
- Description - Full item name
- Category - Item Category classification
- Unit of Measure - Base unit (Units of Measure)
- Tax Type - Item Tax Type for VAT/GST
- Editable Description - Allow description to be changed on transactions
- No Sale - Exclude from sales lists
- No Purchase - Exclude from purchase lists
Stock Settings
- Inventory Account - GL account for stock value
- COGS Account - Cost of goods sold account
- Adjustment Account - GL account for variances
- Standard Cost - Default cost for costing
Operations
- Add New - Create a new item
- Edit - Modify item details
- Search - Find items by code or description
- Sales Prices - Set prices per Sales Type
- Purchasing Data - Configure supplier prices
- Where Used - Show which BOMs include this item
